After a long career within policy, lobbying, strategy, organizational development and as a trusted advisor to top-management on these issues, I discovered a huge need to improve the way parental leave is managed, talked and thought about, handled (and even mishandled) in some workplaces.
Becoming a parent can no longer be a barrier for a carreer. In fact, we need to fully understand the value that parental leave can create at work places, and the connection with other strategic areas like the DE&I and ESG-agenda, retention and recruitment of talent or simply as a stepping stone for better management. In the end, being strategic about your parental leave will save you money and make people happier.
